Yellowknife's new visitor information centre in the downtown Centre Square Mall will open to the public on Monday, September 12 at 12pm. The opening of a visitor centre in the mall follows the demolition of the Northern Frontier Visitors Centre, which was vacated in 2017 and demolished in 2020 after structural issues were identified.

The City of Yellowknife officially unveiled the new visitor centre on Monday. Located in Centre Square Mall on 49 Street, the facility provides information for tourists about activities, events, services and more. It is also a part of the City of Yellowknife's downtown revitalization project.

Yellowknife's visitor centre has a new home. It can now be found on 50th Street. The new space showcases a gold speckled floor, local artwork, a preserved moss wall, maps and QR codes for artists. There's also a help desk. The new visitor centre replaces the old building that was demolished 2 years ago.
